A Widow valued at 1.8 billion ISK was caught and destroyed in Y-CWQY in a short, sharp engagement that appears to have favoured Rainbow Dash Alliance’s small strike group. The Black Ops battleship, flown by Talia Anada of Dracarys., was finished off by MEGApowerR in a Phantasm after a handful of attackers closed in and prevented any clean escape.

THE CATCH

The fight in Y-CWQY was brief, but the result was brutal. A Widow, one of New Eden’s more dangerous and specialised Black Ops platforms, was caught in a local skirmish that involved just seven participants and ended with the ship gone almost as soon as it appeared. For a hull built around stealth, sudden force and careful timing, the loss suggests the vessel was exposed at exactly the wrong moment.

THE PRESSURE BUILDS

Rainbow Dash Alliance fielded a compact group that did enough damage to overwhelm the ship before it could be saved. MEGApowerR’s Phantasm landed the final blow, with another Phantasm from Tredsan Anzomi and a Curse flown by Asaprox Anzomi adding sustained pressure. A Stiletto was also present, hinting that the target may have been pinned down while the damage dealers worked. The engagement did not drag on; once the Widow was caught, the fight appears to have collapsed quickly around it.

THE PRICE OF THE DROP

The destroyed Widow accounts for the bulk of the 1.8 billion ISK loss. The wreck left behind only a small portion of its value, with roughly 1.7 billion ISK destroyed and 91 million ISK recovered.
