About Eve Stories
An independent, AI-assisted newsroom for EVE Online — turning telemetry into stories, and stories into a permanent record of New Eden.
What Eve Stories is
Eve Stories is an unofficial, independent fan project. It turns public EVE Online telemetry — killmails, sovereignty maps, and conflict data from zKillboard and the EVE Swagger Interface (ESI) — into readable stories: news briefs, war reports, battle coverage, campaign analysis, and major-loss roundups.
It is not affiliated with or endorsed by CCP hf. "EVE", "EVE Online", "CCP", and related logos and images are trademarks or registered trademarks of CCP hf.
How stories are produced
- Ingest. Workers continuously pull public killmail and sovereignty data from zKillboard and ESI.
- Detect. Automated detectors identify events worth reporting — battles, campaigns, wars, and notable losses — with thresholds tuned for significance.
- Draft. A language model drafts the narrative from the structured event data.
- Verify & cite. Each story links to its underlying source evidence (the killmail or war record) so readers can check the primary data themselves.
- Publish. Only verified, source-backed stories are published. Drafts never reach public pages.
We are transparent that our prose is AI-assisted. The facts come from recorded New Eden activity; the model only shapes how those facts are written up.
Why trust us
- Sourced, not invented. Every story carries a "Sources and verification" block linking to the primary record.
- No editorial fabrication. Stories are generated only when real, verified event data exists — never on speculation or guessed URLs.
- Transparent method. Our detection thresholds and data sources are documented here and in the code.
- Corrections welcome. Spot an error? We update records against the source data.
Data sources
- zKillboard — EVE killmail aggregation.
- ESI (EVE Swagger Interface) — official CCP game data API.
- WarBeacon — EVE war tracking (where applicable).
