Vargur Falls to a Coordinated Catch in 4GYV-Q

A 1.5 billion ISK Vargur was destroyed in 4GYV-Q as The Initiative. and allies caught the battleship in a swift 28-participant skirmish. The loss left most of the ship’s value burned away, with only a modest portion recovered from the field.

THE CATCH

The fight in 4GYV-Q appears to have turned on speed and concentration rather than prolonged exchange. By the time the engagement ended, the Vargur flown by intelligence1963 of Fraternity. and SpaceFire Holding had been overwhelmed by a mixed force tied to The Initiative. and Deepwater Hooligans. The attack was carried by 20 assailants on the final kill, with the last strike delivered by 268425 in an Exequror Navy Issue.

THE BREAKDOWN

The Vargur’s cargo suggests it was still fitted for serious work when the trap closed. Hail L, Barrage L, and Republic Fleet ammunition were among the items left behind or destroyed, evidence that the ship did not go down as an empty hull. Most of the estimated 1.5 billion ISK value was lost with the wreck, while only 132.4 million ISK appears to have been recovered.

THE ATTACKERS

The damage profile points to a concentrated assault rather than a lone opportunist’s shot. 268425 led the final push in an Exequror Navy Issue, while other heavy contributors included feng fenghua in another Exequror Navy Issue, biebiemi in a Brutix Navy Issue, beibeimi in an Eris, and Cockroach Killer in an Exequror Navy Issue. The mix suggests a coordinated hunt that brought enough tackle and firepower to pin down a battleship before it could pull clear.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Fraternity., the loss of a Vargur is more than an expensive ship disappearing in hostile space. Marauders are prized precisely because they can project punishing damage and survive under pressure, and when one is caught, the margin for error vanishes quickly. In 4GYV-Q, that margin appears to have disappeared almost at once, leaving The Initiative. and its allies with a sharp, costly prize and a reminder of how quickly a valuable ship can be erased when a hunt lands cleanly.

Evermore Warriors Lose Ten as Eight Capitals Melt in Fifteen Minutes

At 02:06 UTC a Hurricane exploded in V2-GZS. Fourteen minutes later the last loss on the board was a capsule belonging to a Hounds of War. pilot, and the Kalevala Expanse had eight fewer capitals in it than it did a quarter of an hour earlier.

Big Vantus Paid 15 Ships Toward Pochven's 72 Billion ISK Tab

Of the 47 ships destroyed in Ignebaener, 46 were, in ISK terms, background noise. The 47th was a Paladin valued at just under 57.5 billion ISK - close to four-fifths of everything the system destroyed in one sitting. One hull, one pilot, one very bad moment, and the number that will define this fight long after the killboards stop updating.

Brave Newbies Lost 21 Ships in 4-07MU and Shot Back With Interest

Somewhere around 19:25 UTC, a Caracal Navy Issue died in 4-07MU and 912 pilots decided that was a reasonable invitation. Two hours later the system had produced 200 wrecks, 67.2 billion ISK of damage, and not one capital ship - just battleship after battleship feeding itself into a fight that refused to end. The killboards call it a gank. The killboards are only half right.

Solyaris Chtonium Killed Redux.'s Avatar as 1,166 Pilots Watched

The last thing an Avatar expects to be doing is dying in lowsec, but Amamake has been ruining plans for a very long time. Redux.'s Amarr Titan - one of the largest and most expensive warships in New Eden - came apart in the Heimatar system with roughly 1,166 pilots involved in the kill, and a price tag of 142.7 billion ISK attached to a single loss.
