THE CATCH
The fight in Taisy was over almost as soon as it began. In a system where mobility is usually the difference between escape and destruction, Hich’s Vargur became the centre of attention and the target of a concentrated strike. With nine participants recorded across the encounter, the balance of the field suggests the ship was never left much room to dictate the terms of the engagement.
THE BREAK
Lucky.Punch appears to have been the core of the attack, with six attackers credited against the loss. The final blow came from The Dexter in a Proteus, but the damage spread across several hulls and even included outside interference from an unaligned Tower Sentry Angel III and Battelstar1 in a Cenotaph of The Initiative. That mix suggests a chaotic close-range exchange rather than a clean duel, with the Vargur taking enough punishment to collapse before any escape could take hold.
THE LOSSES
The destroyed hull was a Vargur, one of New Eden’s most feared marauders and an expensive one to lose in any theatre. Roughly 2.9 billion ISK in value was destroyed, while only 1.1 billion ISK appears to have been recovered from the wreck. The ammunition destroyed with it—Hail L, Barrage L, and Republic Fleet Titanium Sabot L—adds to the sense of a ship that was active and committed at the moment it was caught, not idling safely in space.
THE AFTERMATH
For Fraternity., the loss of Hich’s Vargur is a sharp and visible hit, less for the numbers alone than for the reminder that even a heavily armed marauder can be overwhelmed when caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. For Lucky.Punch, the kill stands as a clean prize from a short, decisive engagement in Taisy, where persistence and proximity appear to have mattered more than raw numbers.
