THE CATCH
What began as a single-loss report quickly looks like a focused hunt. The Vagabond is a ship built to stay moving and choose its fights, but in Hagilur it ended up under pressure from a five-ship attacking group that included an Ashimmu, a Gnosis, an Exequror and support from other nearby pilots. Once the cruiser was pinned down, the fight turned from pursuit into execution.
THE BREAKDOWN
The final blow came from Dexter Awake flying an Ashimmu for Wolfostan, but the damage was shared across several attackers. Vas Polosatiy in a Gnosis and Jazinaplays Dallocort in an Osprey Navy Issue both contributed, suggesting the target was steadily stripped of options before the killing shot landed. Debora Morgan’s Exequror also appears to have been part of the pressure on the field, while the presence of additional pilots points to a broader local engagement rather than a clean one-on-one duel.
WHAT THE VAGABOND LOST
The loss was not just the hull. Along with the Vagabond, ammunition and fittings went up with it, while part of the cargo was recovered and part destroyed in the blast. Warpath Operational Intel was among the items lost in the wreckage, adding an extra sting to a ship already carrying a heavy price tag. For Republic Military School, the destruction of an expensive cruiser is the kind of setback that is felt immediately, both in ISK and in momentum.
WHY HAGILUR MATTERED
On paper this was a brief encounter, but the outcome still matters because it shows how quickly a mobile ship can be trapped when enough pilots are already in the area. A Vagabond can be a dangerous tool in the right hands; once it is slowed, isolated or simply outnumbered, it becomes very expensive wreckage very quickly. Hagilur’s fight was small, but it was decisive, and the price of losing the wrong ship at the wrong time was over a billion ISK.
