THE CATCH
The loss happened fast. In a fight involving just five participants, The Initiative. appears to have found an opening on Efraim Diverol1’s Thunderchild and turned it into a costly trap. The capital-class target’s destruction in 0J3L-V suggests the ship was exposed long enough for attackers to commit and finish the job before help or a clean disengage could arrive.
THE BLAST
The Thunderchild was not simply overwhelmed by raw numbers. Only three attackers are listed against the hull, and the final blow came from geek cc’s Retribution, an interceptor-style hunter that was able to help close the engagement at the critical moment. A Fraternity. Machariel, flown by Pontifex Umbrae, also appears in the action, but not as the vessel that sealed the outcome.
THE LOSSES
The destruction of the Thunderchild accounted for the full 3.4 billion ISK value of the encounter. Of that, 2.3 billion ISK was destroyed outright and 1.1 billion ISK was recovered as loot, leaving behind a painful loss for Efraim Diverol1 and Rusty Dragons. Among the wreckage were expensive modules and ammunition, including a Large Micro Jump Drive, a Limited Hyperspatial Accelerator, a Cap Recharger II, and large quantities of BlastShot Condenser Pack L.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Fraternity., the incident is a reminder that even a heavily committed ship can be pinned down and removed quickly when an enemy finds the right moment. For The Initiative., it is a clean, high-value catch that turns a brief encounter in 0J3L-V into a memorable result. In New Eden, that is often enough: one exposed ship, one closing net, and one wreck where a dangerous asset used to be.
