THE CATCH
The fight in R3-K7K appears to have come down to a single expensive mistake: a Scimitar caught in a contest where mobility and logistics were no longer enough to keep it alive. The ship belonged to Plexar Varius of Kinetic Diplomacy, flying under the Red Pill Gaming Syndicate banner, and it was taken apart in a brief but concentrated engagement that drew 28 pilots into the system.
THE PRESSURE
PURPLE HELMETED WARRIORS were credited with the loss, but the damage was not applied by one side alone. Dr Fly delivered the final blow in a Drake Navy Issue, while other notable attackers from Honorable Third Party and Domain Research and Mining Inst. helped build the pressure that trapped the Scimitar. The mix of ships suggests a coordinated collapse rather than a lone hunter’s shot, with heavy missile platforms doing the work of stripping away the logistics cruiser’s safety margin.
THE BREAK
The Scimitar’s fittings hint at the kind of fight it was expected to survive: repair paste, shield and armor maintenance bots, and a Capacitor Power Relay II all point toward a vessel prepared to stay on grid and keep others alive. Instead, much of that support capability was destroyed with the ship, while 482.4 million ISK in fittings and cargo dropped into space and another 629.9 million ISK vanished with the hull. For a logistics cruiser, that is the sort of loss that is felt immediately and remembered for longer.
THE COST
At 1.1 billion ISK, this was not a routine cruiser loss. Even in a short engagement, the destruction of a Scimitar carries a message: once the field is controlled, even support ships built to keep others alive can be erased. In R3-K7K, PURPLE HELMETED WARRIORS and their allies appear to have turned that message into a prize, while Kinetic Diplomacy was left counting the price of being caught in the wrong place at the wrong moment.
