A Rattlesnake belonging to Only Drakes was destroyed in Paara on May 31, ending in a 2.1 billion ISK loss after a brief fight that appears to have been decided by a small attacking force from Renminbi Alliance.

THE CATCH

The target was xxNooMoahk’s Rattlesnake, a costly pirate battleship that never got the chance to turn a short encounter into a prolonged escape. The ship was destroyed in Paara with smater van of Renminbi Alliance taking the final blow in a Babaroga, while the wider attack appears to have involved two attackers in total.

THE BREAK

The loss happened fast. With only four participants recorded in the engagement, the exchange suggests a tight ambush rather than a sprawling fight, and the Rattlesnake was overcome before it could survive the pressure. The ship’s cargo and fittings also tell part of the story: much of the value was destroyed outright, while 760.3 million ISK in items was recovered from the wreckage.

THE LOSSES

The battle cost the victim 2.1 billion ISK in total. Beyond the hull itself, the destroyed and dropped ammunition shows the ship was actively fitted for combat, carrying Scourge Fury Cruise Missiles in quantities that speak to a prepared pilot rather than a stranded one. That makes the destruction feel less like an empty loss and more like a hunt that ended on the wrong side of the exchange.

For Only Drakes, the loss of a Rattlesnake is the kind of setback that is hard to ignore: expensive, immediate, and visible. For Renminbi Alliance, even a small-gang catch like this is the sort of result that can puncture confidence and advertise reach in a border system.
