Dead Star Syndicate appears to have found the opening they wanted, committing a squad of Brutix Navy Issues into close-range pressure that proved enough to pin down Goonswarm Federation’s Nightmare before it could escape.

THE NIGHTMARE GOES DOWN

The Nightmare was the headline loss of the fight, and for good reason. Piloted by The Llama of Llama’s Hat Emporium, the ship was destroyed for a total value of 2.7 billion ISK. Its fittings suggest it was carrying a serious amount of ammunition and combat support, with Navy Cap Booster 3200s and drone losses indicating the ship was fully engaged when the attackers landed the decisive blow.

THE BRUTIX PRESSURE

The final blow came from ronin524 in a Brutix Navy Issue, but the damage was spread across a coordinated group effort. wwhymee, James Rapture, Carl Bathana and Dante589 all added significant fire, pointing to a concentrated brawl rather than a lucky solo strike. Dead Star Syndicate’s eight attackers seem to have maintained enough control to keep the target under pressure until the Nightmare broke.

THE COSTLY AFTERMATH

Alongside the Nightmare, a Sleipnir was also lost in the same engagement, pushing the overall damage from the encounter to 4.7 billion ISK. For Goonswarm Federation, the loss of a faction battleship in such a short fight is the kind of setback that can sting well beyond the raw value. For Dead Star Syndicate, it was a clean and efficient prize: a brief ambush, a heavy target caught in the open, and a fast escape denied.
