THE CATCH
The fight in A1-AUH was a small one on paper, but the result was anything but routine. A Loki flown by Thoreau2 of Invidia Gloriae Comes was destroyed in a short encounter that involved seven pilots overall, with Fraternity. taking the field against a lone high-value target. For the defenders, there was little room to absorb mistakes once the engagement closed in.
THE BREAKDOWN
The final blow went to Apple Lion in a Caracal, but the damage was clearly a group effort. Fraternity. fielded four attackers on the kill, including three Exequror Navy Issue cruisers that helped wear the Loki down before the finishing volley landed. The ship’s fittings suggest it was prepared for serious combat: stacks of heavy assault missiles were among the more notable items lost, with only a portion of the cargo and ammunition escaping destruction.
THE PRICE OF THE HUNT
The Loki’s destruction accounts for most of the 1.5 billion ISK total, with 1.2 billion ISK destroyed outright and another 325 million ISK dropped from the wreck. That makes this more than a simple skirmish loss; it is the kind of expensive disappearance that can sting even in a busy warzone. For a ship class prized for flexibility and combat potential, being pinned long enough for a small hostile group to finish the job is consequence enough.
AFTERMATH
Invidia Gloriae Comes lost a valuable hull, while Fraternity. came away with a clean and efficient catch. The engagement does not read like a major battle, but it does show how quickly a roaming force can turn a moment of exposure into a significant loss. In A1-AUH, the Loki did not get the chance to make the fight its own.
