Black Astronaut’s Gila is the sort of hull that rewards confidence and punishes hesitation, and in AD148 it found itself under pressure from a small Vigilant Tyrannos group that appears to have been waiting for the right moment to commit.

THE BREAK

The final blow went to Karybdis Tyrannos flying a Drifter Assault Battleship, while another Vigilant Tyrannos pilot in the same hull added a heavy share of the damage. That suggests the Gila was engaged hard and fast, with little room to maneuver once the attack began. The presence of a Short-Range Deviant Automata Suppressor on the field may indicate an attempt to control the target’s options or force the fight into close quarters.

THE LOSSES

The Gila’s fitted value made the outcome sting. Around 1 billion ISK was destroyed with just under 500 million ISK recovering from the wreck, leaving the rest to vanish with the ship.
