Deluge Caught and Crushed in Obrolber Hunting Strike

A 1.7 billion ISK Deluge was destroyed in Obrolber when Vigilant Tyrannos closed a fast hunt around Lucius Itonula’s ship and finished the job with Drifter Battleships. The loss left little doubt about how quickly a high-value target can be turned into wreckage once the trap is set.

THE CATCH

The fight in Obrolber was brief, but it was expensive. Lucius Itonula’s Deluge, flying for Wreckflix and chill’s French Touch, was caught in an engagement that involved five participants and ended with the ship destroyed outright. The scale was small, but the value at stake was anything but routine.

THE KILLING BLOW

Vigilant Tyrannos appears to have brought the pressure with a compact three-pilot strike, and the final blow came from Apollo Tyrannos in a Drifter Battleship. Artemis Tyrannos also contributed heavily from another Drifter Battleship, suggesting the Deluge was under sustained fire rather than isolated by a single lucky shot. An additional unaligned Drifter Battleship was listed among the attackers, adding to the sense of a tightly focused ambush.

THE LOSSES

The Deluge went down with 1.2 billion ISK destroyed and 507.9 million ISK recovered from the wreck. Among the cargo and fit, 250,000 Hydrogen Isotopes were lost, while Nitrogen Isotopes and Oxygen Isotopes were among the items that made it out. Defensive modules also split between destruction and salvage, with Multispectrum Shield Hardener II units lost and Damage Control II units dropped into the aftermath.

THE SIGNIFICANCE

For Wreckflix and chill, the loss of a single Deluge in Obrolber is the kind of hit that stings well beyond the battlefield itself. The ship was valuable enough to attract a committed hunt, and Vigilant Tyrannos made sure the opportunity did not pass. In New Eden, that is often the entire story: the moment a target is exposed, the window closes fast.
