A capsule carrying more than 1.1 billion ISK in implants was destroyed in 02V-BK after Goonswarm Federation caught the pilot, Greasyforehead of Pator Tech School, and finished the job with a Gnosis-supported tackler pair. The loss was small in ship count but expensive enough to stand out, turning an apparently brief interception into a costly and very personal mistake.

THE CATCH

The engagement in 02V-BK involved only five participants, but the value at stake made it far more significant than its size suggested. Goonswarm Federation’s Volond Syr, flying a Gnosis, landed the final blow on Greasyforehead’s capsule, while ALLAz in a Sabre was also present on the attack. The result was immediate and unforgiving: the pod was destroyed before escape could be secured.

THE PRICE

What made the loss sting was not the hull — it was what the capsule was carrying. Among the destroyed implants were multiple Poteque 'Prospector' sets, along with an Ocular Filter - Improved and a Social Adaptation Chip - Improved. Those items push the destruction into the billion-ISK range and suggest the pilot was flying with a carefully built clone, not an expendable spare.

THE BREAK

The evidence points to a short-range hunt rather than a prolonged fight. With two Goonswarm attackers involved and only a single ship lost, the capsule appears to have been isolated quickly and denied any meaningful chance to slip away. In New Eden, pod losses like this often happen in the narrow window after a target is pinned down and before the pilot can react.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Pator Tech School’s Greasyforehead, the damage was concentrated in one moment: the loss of a capsule, but one fitted with implants worth far more than the hull itself. For Goonswarm Federation, the kill adds another clean interception in 02V-BK and shows that even the smallest targets can produce expensive consequences when caught at the wrong time.
