THE CATCH
The fight in 2R-CRW was over almost as soon as it began. What started as an 11-pilot engagement ended with Brutor Big Sharks of Dracarys. losing a Widow worth 1.3 billion ISK, a ship that is rarely cheap to replace and never easy to lose. The black ops hull did not survive long enough to extract, and the engagement appears to have tilted quickly once Siberian Squads committed heavier firepower.
CAPITAL WEIGHT
Siberian Squads fielded a mixed heavy lineup that included a Thanatos flown by dix otto, backed by Moros Navy Issue and Phoenix support. The final blow came from the Thanatos, but the damage had already been done by the concentrated fire around the target. On the Dracarys. side, Li BaTian’s Widow was left exposed in the middle of a fight where capital ships had already taken control of the tempo.
THE BREAK
The Widow’s cargo tells its own story. Nitrogen isotopes, Nova Rage torpedoes, Mjolnir Rage torpedoes and nanite repair paste were either destroyed or only lightly recovered, suggesting the ship was operating with a full combat load when it was cornered. With only 23.7 million ISK in loot salvaged from the wreck and 1.2 billion ISK destroyed, the loss points to a decisive kill rather than a prolonged withdrawal gone wrong.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Dracarys., the loss of a Widow is more than an expensive setback. Black ops battleships are prized for their mobility and surprise, and once one is pinned down in a fight like this, the price of failure rises sharply. Siberian Squads emerged with a clean result and a valuable trophy, while the wreck in 2R-CRW serves as a reminder that even the ships built to hunt in the shadows can be brought down when heavier hunters are already waiting.
