Scumlords, operating with 15 attackers in the decisive portion of the fight, turned the encounter into a hunt rather than a brawl, forcing the covert battleship into a losing position before it could escape or stabilise.
THE BREAK
The damage came from a compact but dangerous mix of hulls, led by Vedmaks and supported by a Legion. jasompan’s Vedmak landed the final blow, but the pressure clearly built from several attackers working the target down in concert. Once the Widow was pinned down, its large torpedo load and capacitor supplies became part of the loss, with more than 55,000 Nitrogen Isotopes dropped and a significant torpedo stock destroyed in the wreckage.
THE LOSSES
For WiNGSPAN Delivery Network, the loss was not just the hull but the price of everything that was fitted and loaded aboard it. Of the 1.8 billion ISK value tied up in the ship, 1.4 billion ISK was destroyed outright, while 333.7 million ISK worth of material was recovered. That kind of exchange leaves a mark, especially when the victim is a Widow — a ship that is rarely cheap to replace and never pleasant to lose in hostile space.

In a system like 9-KWXC, catching a Widow suggests the attackers found either an opening or a mistake, and Scumlords appear to have made the most of it. Even without a wider fleet battle, the destruction of a black-ops battleship in a local skirmish sends a clear message: expensive ships are still very vulnerable when the hunters get there first.
