A Brave United Vargur was destroyed in Y-ORBJ in a brief, violent interception that left the Marauder wrecked and more than 1.9 billion ISK in losses behind. The ship, flown by Michal Kasprzak of Brave Empire Inc., was caught by an unaligned attacker flying an Angel Dreadnought, a stark reminder that even a heavily armed Marauder can be caught out when the right hunter is watching.

THE CATCH

The engagement was over almost as soon as it began. With only two participants recorded in the fight, an apparently isolated Vargur found itself in the sights of a lone hostile in Y-ORBJ. The final blow came from an Angel Dreadnought, an unusual and intimidating presence to see delivering the finishing strike in a skirmish of this size.

THE PRICE OF ONE MISTAKE

For Michal Kasprzak and Brave United, the loss was a costly one. The Vargur accounted for 1.5 billion ISK in destroyed hull and fittings, with another 383.4 million ISK recovered from the wreck. The ship was carrying ammunition and consumables typical of a Marauder operating at range, including large quantities of Barrage L and Hail L, much of it destroyed in the blast.

THE HUNTER

The attacker’s identity remains unclear, listed only as an unaligned force from an unknown corporation, but the choice of ship suggests confidence or at least the willingness to gamble heavily for the kill. An Angel Dreadnought is not a casual hunting vessel, and its appearance here may indicate either an opportunistic escalation or a hunter committed to seeing the target destroyed regardless of cost or risk.

THE CONSEQUENCE

In a system where a single ship vanished in seconds, the story is less about a pitched battle than about exposure. Brave United lost a high-value Marauder to a lone predator, and the result adds another expensive wreck to the unforgiving ledger of low-level encounters in New Eden. Sometimes the whole fight is decided by who sees whom first.

By the time the last capsule in the system - belonging to x Never Regret x - came apart at 19:56, 557 pilots had produced 516 confirmed losses, fourteen capital ships had been wrecked, and the Heimatar system had eaten just over 192 billion ISK. That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.
