Vargur Lost in a Tight Wormhole Catch in J111404

A 1.1 billion ISK Vargur was brought down in J111404 after Wandering Dreams closed in on the marauder with a small but effective strike force. The kill came quickly, but the value on the field made the outcome hard to ignore: a high-end battleship lost to a coordinated hunt in wormhole space.

THE CATCH

The engagement in J111404 was brief, but it carried the weight of an expensive mistake. Mighty Bk, flying a Vargur for Ministry of Inappropriate Footwork, was caught and destroyed by attackers from Wandering Dreams in a fight involving eight known participants. In a system where exits and escapes are often measured in seconds, the marauder appears to have been exposed long enough for the hunters to commit and finish the job.

THE PRESSURE

Wandering Dreams fielded at least five attackers on the final blow, with Unkindustt delivering the killing strike in a Drekavac. Two other Drekavacs, flown by Unkindus and Tort Radeon, accounted for most of the damage, suggesting a focused attack rather than a random skirmish. An Augoror pair also appeared on grid, indicating the hunters had support available even if it did not fire the shot that ended the fight.

THE LOSS

The Vargur itself was the prize. The ship represented most of the 1.1 billion ISK total value destroyed, with roughly 957.1 million ISK lost outright and another 117.2 million ISK recovered as loot. The wreck also contained ammunition and repair supplies, a reminder that the ship was not just fitted for a sortie but ready for a prolonged fight that ended before it could matter.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Ministry of Inappropriate Footwork, the loss of a marauder in wormhole space is the kind of setback that stings far beyond the ship hull. For Wandering Dreams, it was a clean and efficient hunt: a valuable target isolated, pinned down, and finished without the fight turning into a broader brawl. In New Eden, that kind of outcome can be enough to make a system feel hostile long after the wreck is cleared.

Scan Stakan Killed 55 Ships and Lost 186 in the Same Fight

E-WMT7 produced 376 killmails, somewhere around 134 billion ISK of wreckage, and one battleship worth more than a force auxiliary, a Nestor and a Typhoon Fleet Issue put together. The number that stings harder is 186. That is how many ships Scan Stakan lost in the same engagement in which they killed 55 - top of the kill list and top of the loss list, in a single three-and-a-half-hour afternoon.

x Never Regret x Takes 40 Kills as Raa Burns 26 Capitals

At 17:28 UTC, a Retriever died in Raa. Retrievers die constantly, and in Devoid that is more or less the job description. This one is only worth mentioning because of what followed it: for the next hundred minutes, a system on the edge of Amarr space turned into a scrapyard, and by the time the last shot landed at 19:10, 87 ships had been destroyed and the bill had reached 157.4 billion ISK. Almost half of that was one Revelation.

Rattini Tribe and Prime Directive. Split Dal's 192 Billion ISK Bill

An Amarr Shuttle belonging to G0lden Fleet. died in Dal at 16:15 UTC. That is not normally the opening line of a 192 billion ISK story, but Dal spent the next three hours and forty-one minutes making sure nobody forgot it. By the time the last capsule in the system - belonging to x Never Regret x - came apart at 19:56, 557 pilots had produced 516 confirmed losses, fourteen capital ships had been wrecked, and the Heimatar system had eaten just over 192 billion ISK. That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.

Brave Newbies Topped Both Sides of the HY-RWO Ledger

The first ship to die in HY-RWO was a Rokh worth 44.7 billion ISK, and it set the tone for everything that came after. Over the following hour, 1,883 pilots fought in the Catch system, 243 ships were destroyed, and around 205 billion ISK was removed from the economy one killmail at a time. Not a single capital ship died. In a fight of that size, the most expensive losses were ordinary battleships, fitted in a way that makes the word 'ordinary' sound absurd.
