The loss left Project Potato with a costly wreck and underlined how quickly a high-end battleship can be overwhelmed once the wrong fight is joined.

THE CATCH

The engagement in Karjataimon was brief, but the scale around it was not. Forty-five pilots were on the field when the Vargur, flown by Causa causarum of Project Potato’s 10 Potatoes, was caught and destroyed. The ship alone accounted for the entire loss, making this less a scattered skirmish than a concentrated strike on a valuable target.

THE PRESSURE BUILDS

People’s Liberation Alliance applied the force, with 41 pilots credited on the attack. The damage came from a mixed assault that included Brutix Navy Issues and a Typhoon, a combination that suggests the target was steadily boxed in rather than quickly erased. Jiuganni’s Brutix Navy Issue delivered the final blow, but the work of wearing the marauder down had already been done by the surrounding fleet.

THE LOSS

The Vargur did not go quietly in terms of value. About 1.1 billion ISK was destroyed with another 886.8 million ISK dropped, leaving behind ammunition, repair paste, and enough faction battleship firepower to remind anyone watching that marauders are expensive to gamble with.
