A Vargur was cut down in HZFJ-M in a brief three-ship fight that left a 1.2 billion ISK wreck behind. The Marauder fell to a mixed attack that included a Praxis on the final blow and an unidentified Gist Seraphim that appears to have done most of the damage.

THE CATCH

The fight in HZFJ-M was over almost as soon as it began, but the loss was anything but minor. A Vargur piloted by Oh Lulu of Goonswarm Federation was destroyed in a small engagement involving just three participants, turning a compact clash into a costly one for the defender. The ship’s 1.2 billion ISK value made it the clear prize in a fight that offered little room for error.

THE PRESSURE

According to the available data, the Vargur was under sustained fire from an unidentified attacker flying a Gist Seraphim, which appears to have done the bulk of the damage before the final strike landed. Oh Emma, also of Goonswarm Federation, delivered the finishing blow in a Praxis. The presence of pilots from the same alliance on both sides suggests a particularly tangled encounter, though the report does not show why the ship was exposed in the first place.

THE LOSS

The Marauder did not leave quietly. Of the ship’s value, 1.1 billion ISK was destroyed and 158.1 million ISK worth of material was recovered, including a large quantity of Hail L ammunition among the scattered loot and wreckage. For a Vargur, that kind of loss is the sort of blow that is felt immediately: a heavy ship gone in a fight too small to absorb mistakes.

THE SIGNIFICANCE

With only three participants recorded, the engagement reads less like a fleet action than a sharp local interception that got out of hand for one side. Even without a larger campaign attached to it, the destruction of a Marauder in such a small clash is enough to stand out. In HZFJ-M, the result was simple: one expensive hull was removed from the field before it could turn the fight around.
