THE CATCH
The engagement appears to have been over almost as soon as it began. In F-9F6Q, Nasi Praimm’s Vargur was caught by a single attacker whose identity was not established beyond the label of an unknown pilot flying a Guristas Dreadnought. With only two participants on the field, there was little room for error once the marauder was exposed.
THE BREAK
The final blow was delivered cleanly, and the Vargur did not escape the encounter intact. The damage tally suggests the attacker had the upper hand throughout, dealing 118,837 points of damage before the ship was lost. The wreckage left behind also shows that much of the ammunition in the hold was destroyed rather than recovered, adding insult to a very expensive loss.
THE LOSSES
The destroyed hull was the main event, but the fitting tells its own story. Republic Fleet Titanium Sabot L rounds were among the items vaporised in the explosion, alongside large quantities of Barrage L. Only about 10.1 million ISK in value appears to have been recovered from the wreck, making this a near-total writeoff for the ship and its fittings.
WHY IT MATTERS
A Vargur is not a casual loss. At 1.1 billion ISK, this was a significant destruction even by New Eden standards, and it removes a heavily armed marauder from Synergy of Steel’s ranks. Whether this was a hunt, an interception, or simply a target caught at the wrong moment, the result was the same: a high-value hull was erased in seconds, and someone in F-9F6Q walked away with the prize.
