A Vargur worth 2.2 billion ISK was cut down in Tvink after a 17-pilot attack from White Sky. overwhelmed the Marauder with a wave of Catalysts, turning a single ship into the centre of a sharp and costly skirmish.

THE CATCH

The loss happened in Tvink at 18:03:46 UTC, where Mefarion's Vargur was caught and destroyed in a fight that drew 20 participants in total. The ship, flown for Taverne Antik, stood out immediately as the most valuable prize on the field, and White Sky. appears to have committed enough destroyers to finish the job quickly.

THE BREAK

The attackers leaned on sheer pressure. White Sky. fielded a cluster of Catalysts, with AIexis Texas landing the final blow in one of the same ships that helped shred the target. Kelly Greyson, ChangKaiShi, 3AXODUM and HE CJLbILLIHO were among the most active attackers recorded, suggesting the Vargur was overwhelmed before it could turn the engagement in its favour.

THE LOSSES

The destruction total came to 2.2 billion ISK, with 1.4 billion ISK lost outright and 842.3 million ISK recovered from the wreck. The Vargur's weapons loadout also tells part of the story: ammunition ranging from EMP L and Hail L to Barrage L and Fusion L was among the cargo and fittings affected as the ship went up under fire.

THE SIGNIFICANCE

For White Sky., the result was a clean and efficient kill; for Taverne Antik, it was a punishing loss of a heavily armed Marauder in a system where hesitation can be fatal. In EVE, a ship like this rarely disappears by accident. It usually takes timing, numbers, and the ability to close before the target can slip away — and on this occasion, those elements seem to have aligned for the attackers.

By the time the last capsule in the system - belonging to x Never Regret x - came apart at 19:56, 557 pilots had produced 516 confirmed losses, fourteen capital ships had been wrecked, and the Heimatar system had eaten just over 192 billion ISK. That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.
