THE CATCH

The engagement in CSOA-B was over almost as soon as it began. With only eight participants tied to the fight, the action suggests a small, sharp interception rather than a drawn-out exchange. Fraternity.’s Tank Shen, flying the Vargur, became the centre of the encounter and the target D-sync. had found worth committing to.

THE BREAK

The kill was secured by Lee Gemulus, who flew a Golem for D-sync. and landed the final blow after 25,932 damage. Support came from Roue of Rote Kapelle, also in a Golem, and The Main Jihad in a Vargur, indicating the target was under concentrated pressure from comparable heavy-hitting hulls. The presence of a Cenotaph among the attackers may suggest additional support was on grid, even though it did not deal damage.

THE LOSSES

The Vargur’s destruction accounted for 1.8 billion ISK in losses, with just 112.4 million ISK recovered. Its cargo and ammunition were largely consumed in the wreckage, including thousands of Hail L, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma L, Republic Fleet Fusion L, and Barrage L rounds. For the victim, the result was not just the loss of a battleship-class Marauder, but the disappearance of an expensive, combat-ready asset that had been caught before it could escape or meaningfully answer back.

WHY IT MATTERS

For D-sync., the fight was a clean and costly enough strike to stand out on its own: a high-value ship removed in a small-scale clash, with Fraternity. taking the heavier hit. In New Eden, that kind of loss is often remembered less for the duration of the fight than for the moment a powerful ship is isolated and its margins for survival vanish.
