THE CATCH

The engagement in 68FT-6 appears to have been a sharp interception rather than a drawn-out fight. Only ten pilots were present in the encounter, but the target was a Vargur flown by Assa Funaila of Goonswarm Federation’s Imperial Ghosts, a ship that is never cheap to lose and rarely forgiving once pinned down.

THE PRESSURE CLOSES

Sedition. was represented among the attackers, with support also coming from Snuffed Out, Intergalactic Space Hobos, and Eastern Horizon Industries. Four attackers are specifically tied to the final destruction, and the damage profile suggests the Vargur was under sustained pressure from multiple angles before the end came. The final blow was delivered by Drunk Prophet in a Redeemer, a fittingly brutal finish for a marauder caught in hostile space.

THE LOSSES

When the Vargur broke, it took a serious slice of value with it. The destruction amounted to 2.1 billion ISK, while 1.6 billion ISK in fittings and cargo reportedly survived the wreck. The ship’s ammunition load also tells part of the story: Hail L and Barrage L were caught in the destruction, suggesting the pilot was prepared for a fight that turned against them before they could make that preparation count.

THE SIGNIFICANCE

For Goonswarm Federation, the loss of a Vargur is less about raw numbers than the exposure it represents.
