THE CATCH
The Thunderchild belonged to Bri Queens of Fraternity.'s La Flota Carmesi, and it appears to have been isolated at exactly the wrong moment. What began in Q-R3GP as a compact engagement quickly turned into a focused hunt, with the attackers committing enough force to keep the target under pressure until the ship finally broke. The loss was not just expensive; it was decisive.
THE BREAK
The final blow came from charly5 flying a Nemesis, but the damage had already been building around the Thunderchild from multiple directions. Agram Plox in a Redeemer, Kalifa Surmia Ederton in a Cenotaph, and The Dark Caldarian in another Redeemer all contributed to the assault, suggesting a coordinated effort built to pin the target down and prevent escape. Even an unidentified attacker armed with Scourge Torpedoes added to the collapse as the Thunderchild was forced to absorb damage it could not outlast.
THE LOSSES
When the hull went, the wreck carried the cost of a ship that had been fitted for a serious fight. Among the items destroyed or recovered were large quantities of ElectroPunch Ultra L ammunition, along with Capacitor Flux Coil II, Vorton Tuning System II, and a Cap Recharger II. The balance of destroyed and dropped value — 997.8 million ISK lost and 622.7 million ISK recovered — shows a ship that did not go quietly, even if the end result was never in doubt once the attack had landed.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Fraternity., the destruction of a Thunderchild is a painful reminder that even substantial assets can be exposed and removed when a hunt closes cleanly. For Invidia Gloriae Comes and the other attackers involved, the kill suggests a force willing to work together across ship classes to secure a high-value target. In Q-R3GP, the fight ended quickly, but the message was clear: in New Eden, a single mistake or moment of isolation can turn a formidable ship into a very expensive wreck.
