A Goonswarm Federation Thanatos was brought down in ZDB-HT in a swift attack that left little room for a response. Worth 4.1 billion ISK, the carrier was destroyed by a small group of attackers whose damage was concentrated enough to finish the job before the ship could slip away.

THE CATCH

The target was a Thanatos flown by DaMaureyy of Mine 'N' Refine, under the Goonswarm Federation banner. In a system where capital ships always invite danger, the carrier became the focus of a brief but costly encounter that drew in three participants and ended with the ship wrecked where it stood.

THE ATTACKERS CLOSE IN

The final blow came from an unknown pilot flying a Dismantler Alvior, while a ♦ Cynabal flown by a pilot from Salvation Angels appears to have done the heavy lifting beforehand. The damage was decisive: 3.7 billion ISK in hull and fittings was destroyed, with only 397.6 million ISK making it out as loot.

THE LOSSES

The Thanatos carried the sort of stores that underline how much a capital loss can burn through a wallet. Oxygen Isotopes, Cap Booster 3200 charges, Gram I drones, Einherji I fighters, and Dromi I drones were among the items destroyed with the ship, adding to the sense of a vessel caught while committed and unable to protect its own cargo.

THE COST OF A MOMENT

At 4.1 billion ISK, the loss is significant on its own, but it also reads as the kind of sharp, sudden defeat that can reshape a day’s operations.
