THE CATCH

The engagement in Jamunda appears to have been a tight local strike rather than a drawn-out exchange. On one side was DemidOFH of Beacon of Hope for Free Space in a Tengu; on the other, Drifter's solution for farmers, supported by an additional pilot from belt1 fighters. With only six pilots tied to the event overall, this was a small, fast-moving encounter that ended before the target could get clear.

THE BREAK

The Tengu’s destruction suggests it was under immediate pressure once the attackers closed in. Pericle No1’s Legion did the bulk of the work, dealing 14,288 damage and securing the final blow. The presence of a capsule among the attackers points to the aftermath of a ship kill that left little room for a clean escape, and no sign that the target recovered once the trap was sprung.

THE LOSSES

For DemidOFH, the price of the encounter was steep. The Tengu accounted for the full 1.4 billion ISK value of the event, with 1.1 billion ISK destroyed and 237.8 million ISK dropped. The ship’s cargo also shows the sort of hard-fought fit that rarely survives a sudden loss: large quantities of missile ammunition were wiped out or spilled into space, including Nova Fury, Scourge Fury, Inferno Fury, and Caldari Navy Mjolnir light missiles.

THE SIGNIFICANCE

This was not a major fleet battle, but it did what small EVE hunts are supposed to do: punish exposure. A strategic cruiser falling to a compact attack group in Jamunda is the kind of loss that can matter far beyond the value attached to the wreck. It is a reminder that even a single misstep in a quiet system can turn a capable ship into wreckage in moments.
