The loss came in a fast, localised strike rather than a sprawling battle. In Itsyamil, Anne McDonald’s Tengu was overwhelmed by a compact attack force that appears to have trapped the ship before it could break away. The engagement involved just six participants overall, but the damage was decisive: a strategic cruiser went down, and the field was left to the hunters.
THE HUNT
Desolate. was the name attached to the kill, with Uncle Dangler in a Loki landing the final blow and Little LadyDangler in a Proteus contributing the heaviest share of the damage. A third attacker, flying a Sansha’s Cannibal and identified with True Power, was also present. The makeup of the attackers suggests a coordinated hunt built to pin down and finish a valuable target quickly rather than a prolonged fight.
THE BREAK
The Tengu did not leave empty-handed. A substantial amount of heavy assault missile ammunition was recovered from the wreck, while other munitions were destroyed in the exchange. That kind of cargo hints at a ship prepared for action, not a casual travel fit, and the sudden collapse of the hull suggests its pilot had little room to recover once the attackers committed.
THE LOSSES
The destroyed ship and fittings were valued at 1 billion ISK, with 690.8 million ISK lost outright and 313.8 million ISK salvaged from the wreck. For a single-ship engagement, that is a heavy price, especially against a Tengu — a hull that rarely dies cheaply and usually carries enough capability to make hunters work for every percentage point of structure.
