A 1.4 billion ISK Tengu was caught and destroyed in 1QH-0K in a brief skirmish that appears to have left Insidious. with little room to react. The loss, credited to unaligned attackers, ended with the strategic cruiser stripped apart in a fight involving only three participants but a very expensive target.

THE CATCH

The engagement in 1QH-0K was over as quickly as it began, but the result was anything but minor. IRomahaI’s Tengu, flying for Insidious. through Tranquility Tavern, was destroyed after coming under fire from two attackers. For a ship class prized for flexibility and survival, it was a hard and abrupt finish.

THE HUNTERS

The attackers are listed only as unaligned, but the outcome suggests a small, deliberate hunt rather than a broad fleet action. One attacker in a Pith Dismantler delivered the final blow, while a second, unidentified presence added a small amount of damage. Against that kind of pressure, the Tengu had no margin for error.

THE BREAK

The wreck tells its own story. Roughly 1 billion ISK was destroyed, with another 426.4 million ISK dropped from the ship and its fit. Heavy missiles, ammunition, and a small amount of Liquid Ozone were among the remains, hinting at a combat-ready platform caught before it could turn the fight or disengage.

THE LOSSES

For Insidious., the loss is notable less for scale of numbers than for the cost of the ship itself. A Tengu is never a casual casualty, and in this case the destruction of a billion-ISK cruiser in a tiny engagement is the sort of event that can sting long after the field is clear. In 1QH-0K, the hunters got their prize, and the cruiser did not make it home.
