THE CATCH
The loss unfolded in P3EN-E in a fight that appears to have drawn in a substantial local presence, with 84 participants recorded around the engagement. At the centre of it was Agram Plox’s Redeemer, a ship built for danger and sudden strikes, but one that did not survive the attention it received. Insidious. figures among the attackers, while the final blow came from slamgina cc4lyfe flying a Maelstrom.
THE BREAKDOWN
The damage suggests the Redeemer was pinned down under concentrated fire rather than allowed any clean escape. Several Maelstrom pilots appear in the attack record, including Ryke Stenson, CY54, Tick85, and Tappits, pointing to a heavy volley from multiple directions rather than a lone opportunistic shot. The destroyers’ work was decisive: around 1 billion ISK was wiped out with only a fraction recovered, leaving the ship’s loss to do the real talking.
THE PRICE OF ESCAPE
What little survived tells its own story. The wreckage included large quantities of helium isotopes, along with ammunition and fitted modules that did not make it out intact, including Conflagration L, Scorch L, and Expanded Cargohold II units. That kind of loss turns a destroyed battleship into something more than a ship kill: it becomes a reminder that even heavily armed vessels can be stripped apart once they are caught at the wrong moment.
THE AFTERMATH
For Brotherhood of Spacers, the destruction of a Redeemer is the sort of setback that lingers well beyond the grid where it happened. For Insidious. and their allies in Maelstroms, it was a clean and expensive prize, and one that reinforces how quickly a high-value target can disappear once the window for movement closes. In New Eden, the fastest ships are often not the fastest to leave.
