THE HUNT
The engagement in 4GQ-XQ was small in duration but sharp in impact. Sixteen pilots were involved overall, but the centre of the fight was a single expensive target: mrDavid’s Rattlesnake of Ferrata Victrix, flying for Ecliptic Control. Skuffed Out. brought the pressure, and the report suggests a carefully concentrated strike rather than a prolonged exchange.
THE TRAP CLOSES
The attack came from multiple Redeemers, with 12 attackers credited against the flagship loss. That concentration of heavy covert fire appears to have left the Rattlesnake exposed long enough for the attackers to strip through it before help could arrive. The ship’s equipment tells part of the story too: torpedoes and industrial materials were torn apart in the wreckage, while only part of the cargo escaped destruction.
THE COLLAPSE
The final blow came from an unknown Redeemer pilot, but the damage was spread across several ships of the same class, suggesting the target was pinned down and methodically finished. Once the Rattlesnake went down, the fight was effectively over. A capsule followed, closing the book on the escape attempt and confirming that the victim had no room left to recover the situation.
THE COST
The loss totaled 3.1 billion ISK across the Rattlesnake and capsule, with the battleship alone accounting for 1.7 billion ISK of that figure. For Ferrata Victrix, the cost was more than a flashy ship loss: it was a clean, punishing removal of a high-value hull in a matter of moments. In EVE, that kind of destruction does not need a larger battlefield to matter — the kill itself is the event.
