THE CATCH
The fight in Keri was brief, but it was not cheap. A lone Rattlesnake, one of New Eden’s sturdier and more dangerous pirate battleships, was brought down in an encounter that appears to have involved 14 participants overall. Against it stood attackers from DPEBHUE PYCbI and allied pilots, with the pressure coming from a compact group of Redeemers that left little room for escape once the target was found.
THE BREAK
The damage log suggests the Rattlesnake was pinned down quickly and then steadily stripped apart by the covert attack ships around it. Usui7 and Lear Anzoni, both flying Redeemers, applied the heaviest pressure, while Ritessa and Antena2 added to the collapse from the same shadowy formation. By the time Zipilka landed the final blow, the target had already been pushed well past recovery.
THE LOSSES
Nalvas Saken’s ship was not a routine casualty. The Rattlesnake’s value, along with the fittings lost or destroyed inside it, pushed the total destruction to 2.5 billion ISK. Roughly 1.3 billion ISK was destroyed outright, while another 1.2 billion ISK appears to have been recovered by the attackers, including ammunition and repair supplies scattered from the wreck.
THE SIGNIFICANCE
For Niko's Memories of Azurit, the loss removes a heavily armed battleship from the field in a single strike. For the attackers, it was a clean hunt: a fast, expensive kill delivered by covert-capable ships and closed by a Redeemer at point-blank consequence. In a place like Keri, that kind of ambush can matter as much for the message it sends as for the ISK it burns.
