The attack unfolded in Itamo and ended as quickly as it began. Four pilots were involved in the action, with New Eden Tank Testing Services on the attacking side and Black Sun Industry losing the structure. What was on paper a small encounter still carried real weight: the target was a Raitaru, not a disposable hull, and the value attached to it made the outcome immediately consequential.
THE BREAK
The decisive damage came from two Leshaks flown by Innocent Scout and Zappity, a pairing that suggests the attackers arrived with enough firepower to grind through the structure’s defenses once they had their target. Innocent Scout landed the final blow, but the damage total shows the work was shared. The Raitaru could not hold long enough for reinforcements or a successful rescue, and the engagement appears to have stayed firmly in the attackers’ control from start to finish.
THE LOSSES
The structure destruction removed a Raitaru worth 1.3 billion ISK from Black Sun Industry’s hands. Of that value, 528.8 million ISK was destroyed outright and 807.1 million ISK dropped, while the Raitaru Upwell Quantum Core survived as loot. The Standup Reprocessing Facility I was destroyed with the structure, adding to the industrial cost of the loss.
THE SIGNIFICANCE
For Black Sun Industry, the loss is less about a single explosion than the exposure it reveals. A Raitaru represents infrastructure, storage, and a foothold in space, and losing one can disrupt more than production alone. For New Eden Tank Testing Services, the strike was a clean demonstration that a small number of well-placed ships can still remove a costly target when the opportunity presents itself.
