The loss of the Proteus, flown by creatorlxd of Union Our Power, appears to have been the centrepiece of a fast-moving hunt in Thera. Rote Kapelle committed seven attackers to the target, turning what may have started as a local interception into a focused takedown of a high-value cruiser.

THE FINISH

Vanessa Guang secured the final blow in a Kikimora, closing out the kill after a spread of damage from several Rote Kapelle pilots. Rima Ambraelle’s Retribution, Arkadiy Krylov’s Jackdaw, Proxay’s Garmur and Kivakork Oskold’s Sentinel all contributed, suggesting the Proteus was pinned down long enough for the group to work through its defenses.

THE LOSSES

The strategic cruiser’s destruction totalled 1.1 billion ISK, with 786.6 million ISK destroyed and another 350.6 million ISK recovered from the wreck. The cargo and fitted munitions tell the same story: Navy charges, Spike S, Javelin S and nanite repair paste were all caught in the collapse, reinforcing the sense of a ship prepared for sustained fighting rather than a routine patrol.
