THE CATCH

The engagement in 42XJ-N was brief, but it carried the kind of weight that comes with a high-value cruiser being isolated in hostile space. The victim, lishizhendepi3 of Fraternity., lost a Proteus from New Eden Light Point College in a fight involving 11 participants overall. By the time the dust settled, the ship was gone and 1.7 billion ISK had been erased from the field.

THE PRESSURE BUILDS

The attackers came from Brotherhood of Spacers, with eight credited to the destructive effort. Black ops hulls featured heavily in the strike, including Panthers and a Redeemer, while the final blow came from Ahura Kalord in a Panther. An unknown attacker in a Guristas Fleet Stronghold also appears in the record with the largest damage contribution, suggesting the target may have been under intense pressure before the finishing volley arrived.

THE BREAK

The Proteus did not go quietly. The wreckage shows a fitted Dread Guristas Medium Graviton Smartbomb destroyed along with a large number of Hornet II drones, while Nanite Repair Paste was among the items recovered from the wreck. That mix points to a pilot trying to hold the ship together long enough to escape or survive the attack, but the incoming damage proved too much once the trap had closed.

The cruiser’s destruction removed 962.4 million ISK in hardware outright, while 706.2 million ISK in loot was recovered from the wreck.
