A costly escape attempt in UALX-3 ended with a capsule destroyed for 3.8 billion ISK, after Brave Collective and Phoenix Naval Systems caught a target whose implants made the loss far more painful than the hulls on the field might suggest. The engagement, which ran for roughly 25 minutes and involved 34 participants, also claimed a Vargur and turned a brief clash into a far more expensive affair.

THE CATCH

The most striking loss was not a battleship at all, but the capsule of lore Dethahal of Seker Matar’s Dawn Patrolers. In New Eden, that usually means the pilot’s body was carrying more value than many fully fitted ships, and here the numbers support that fear: the pod alone accounted for 3.8 billion ISK of the total 5.2 billion ISK destroyed in the fight.

THE KEEPSTAR SHOT

The final blow came from an unknown attacker in a Keepstar associated with Brave Collective, a reminder that even the largest structures can still decide a pilot’s fate when a target is trapped in the wrong place at the wrong time. Several high-grade implants were destroyed with the capsule, including Zainou's Snapshot Rockets RD-905, Zor's Custom Navigation Hyper-Link, and pieces of a High-grade Hydra set, turning the kill into a particularly bitter loss for the pilot’s side.

THE FIGHT UNFOLDS

The broader skirmish appears to have drawn ships from Brave Collective, Phoenix Naval Systems, and Seker Matar into the same pocket of UALX-3, with 34 participants in total. Alongside the pod loss, a Vargur was also destroyed, suggesting the engagement had escalated beyond a simple interception and into a localized fight where one side managed to pin down valuable assets and finish them before an escape could be completed.

WHY IT MATTERS

On paper, two losses may sound modest. In practice, this was an expensive reminder that survival in EVE often comes down to timing, positioning, and how much value a pilot is willing to carry into danger. For Seker Matar and its allies, the loss of an implanted capsule under hostile fire is the sort of setback that hurts immediately and lingers long after the wrecks are cleared.
