A Panther was brought down in Doril after Circling Vultures caught the black ops battleship and finished the job with a pair of Machariels. The 1.9 billion ISK loss turned what may have been a brief hunt into a costly end for ScotFire’s pilot, youknowwhat.

The fight in Doril was short, sharp, and decisive. With only five pilots involved, this was not a sprawling fleet action but a compact interception that ended with one ship unable to get away. The victim, a Panther flown by youknowwhat of ScotFire, was the clear prize once Circling Vultures got onto the target.

THE MACHARIELS HIT HOME

Two attackers did the heavy lifting here: Grundle Burning and Greg Krividus, both flying Machariels for Circling Vultures. Grundle Burning landed the final blow, but the damage suggests the target had already been pinned down and worn apart before the finishing strike came in. In a fight this small, every second matters, and a black ops battleship rarely survives long once it has been forced into the open.

THE COST OF THE CATCH

The Panther’s loss was substantial even by New Eden standards. About 1.5 billion ISK in ship and equipment was destroyed, while another 472.1 million ISK in assets dropped from the wreck. Among the more visible losses were large stocks of Hydrogen Isotopes and Republic Fleet ammunition, along with other cargo that suggests the ship was carrying enough supplies to make its destruction sting well beyond the hull itself.

WHY DORIL MATTERS

For Circling Vultures, this was a clean and expensive catch. For ScotFire, it was a reminder that even a stealth-capable platform can become vulnerable the moment it is found and forced into a fair fight. Doril has a way of turning brief contacts into painful losses, and this one ended with the hunters walking away with a high-value wreck and the hunted left with nothing but the cost.
