Curatores Veritatis Alliance appears to have brought the right tools to the job. The attackers included Purifiers, Hounds, and a Manticore, suggesting a covert hunt rather than a stand-up brawl. Manfred Stahler’s Hound and Woof1977’s Manticore added heavy pressure, while Victor Invictus in a Purifier secured the final blow. The Panther never found an opening to turn the exchange into an escape.

THE LOSSES

The ship itself accounted for the central damage to the wallet, with 1.6 billion ISK destroyed and a further 460.3 million ISK dropped from the wreck. Among the cargo and fittings were hydrogen isotopes, ammunition, and other supplies that suggest the Panther was carrying the fuel and firepower expected of a ship built to move and fight in dangerous space. For the pilot, the destruction of a black-ops battleship is the kind of loss that lingers long after the grid goes quiet.
