In Covryn, an unidentified attacker belonging to Unaligned attackers pinned down TrumpMaker's Paladin and secured the final blow in a fight involving just two pilots. For a ship built to dominate smaller threats, the marauder found itself on the wrong end of a fast, high-risk interception.
THE BREAK
The Coreli Protector did not need a fleet to make its point. According to the report, the single attacker dealt 59,117 damage before landing the kill, enough to overwhelm the Paladin's defences and close the trap. The loss also shows the violence of the exchange inside the ship itself: Hornet and Acolyte drones, Imperial Navy Standard L ammunition, and Aurora crystals were all caught up in the destruction or scattered in the aftermath.
THE PRIZE
The destroyed hull accounted for 2.4 billion ISK in losses, with only 70.4 million ISK reported as dropped value. That imbalance is what gives the kill its sting: a prized marauder reduced to wreckage while most of its value vanished with it. Even in a one-on-one hunt, the cost of a moment's exposure can be punishing.
THE CONSEQUENCE
For Dawn's Light, the loss of a Paladin is more than a line item. Marauders are expensive, heavily committed ships, and when one falls this cleanly it suggests a pilot was isolated at exactly the wrong time. In a region where a single opportunistic attacker can turn patience into profit, Covryn has once again proved that even formidable ships can be caught before they can answer back.
