A single Paladin, flown by Jent Thiesant of Fraternity.’s Akavhi Guard, was overwhelmed by a Vendetta Mercenary Group force that appears to have committed enough firepower to ensure the target would not escape once engaged. The ship was lost alongside a substantial loadout, pushing the total value of the destruction to 1.7 billion ISK.
THE BREAK
Vendetta’s attack came from a mixed group of hulls built to pin a target and tear through heavy armour quickly. The attackers included Leshaks, Proteus cruisers, a Vindicator, and a Daredevil, suggesting a coordinated hunt rather than a passing skirmish. Damage landed across the field before Aracano’s Leshak secured the final blow, ending the Paladin’s attempt to hold the grid.
THE LOSSES
The Paladin did not leave empty-handed. Along with the hull itself, significant portions of its ammunition were destroyed, including Scorch L, Standard L, Conflagration L, and Imperial Navy Multifrequency L, while only a smaller amount of Gamma L was recovered. The destruction accounted for about 1.3 billion ISK in lost assets, with 374.5 million ISK dropping from the wreck.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Fraternity., the loss removes an expensive Marauder from the field and underlines how vulnerable even a hard-hitting battleship can be when isolated. For Vendetta Mercenary Group, it reads as a clean interception: a high-value target caught in Sobaseki and stripped before it could force an exit. In New Eden, a single ship like this can be the difference between a routine roam and a memorable raid.
