THE CATCH
The engagement in MP5-KR was over almost as quickly as it began. One attacker met one Paladin, and that was enough to decide the outcome. The scale was tiny, but the ship at stake was not: a Paladin is never a throwaway loss, and the 1.6 billion ISK price tag makes the result stand out all on its own.
THE BREAK
The final blow came from an Unknown attacker flying a Centus Tyrant, with the Paladin absorbing 363,748 damage before it failed. The evidence suggests the target was caught exposed, with no room for a drawn-out escape or meaningful support arriving in time. Even in a fight this small, the Marauder’s destruction would have been felt immediately by its pilot and by anyone watching the system closely.
THE LOSSES
The wreck tells its own story. About 1.1 billion ISK was destroyed with the ship, while 473.3 million ISK managed to drop. The fittings indicate a laser-focused Paladin setup: Conflagration L and Scorch L were largely consumed in the explosion, while Radio L and Multifrequency L rounds survived in the cargo. Three Acolyte II drones were also lost, underscoring how little of the ship’s combat package made it through the fire.
WHY IT MATTERS
This was not a fleet battle or a regional clash, but it still mattered because of what was lost and how cleanly it happened. A single attacker put down a valuable Marauder in a short strike, and that kind of result is exactly what makes low-scale combat in New Eden dangerous. For Dracarys., it is an expensive reminder that even one overlooked ship can become the whole story.
