Paladin Cut Down in Stay Feral Ambush in J111508

A 2.1 billion ISK Paladin was destroyed in J111508 after Stay Feral’s attackers closed in on the marauding marauder and wore it down with a mix of Loki, Tengu and Cenotaph fire. The loss left behind a mix of wreckage and salvage, but the expensive hull itself was lost to the trap.

THE CATCH

The fight in J111508 appears to have ended almost as quickly as it began, with the Paladin of helios primus caught in a 20-pilot engagement and unable to break free. Stay Feral, flying under the banner of Speaker for the Dead, committed at least 16 attackers to the kill, turning what may have been a brief hunt into a focused takedown.

THE PRESSURE

The damage came from several directions at once. Link Aura’s Cenotaph and Lufi125’s Tengu did much of the heavy lifting, while EMorrigan’s Loki landed the final blow. Alfony VIII and DarthBane1988, both in Lokis, added to the pressure as the Paladin was stripped of its edge and forced into a losing defence.

THE LOSSES

The Paladin’s destruction accounted for the full loss on the field, with 1.6 billion ISK destroyed and another 513.3 million ISK recovered or dropped. Notable ammunition and defensive stores, including Scorch L, Conflagration L and Hornet EC-300, were among the items affected as the ship collapsed under fire.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Health Code Violation and its Stuff and Junk Enterprises pilot, the destruction of a Paladin is a costly reminder that even heavily armed marauders can be isolated and overwhelmed in wormhole space. For Stay Feral, the kill suggests a cleanly executed catch and a successful payoff for the commitment of a sizable hunting force.
