THE CATCH
The Paladin, flown by Ollie74nl of Test Alliance Please Ignore's Storm Chasers., appears to have been caught in a fast-moving engagement in L-1HKR and destroyed on the spot. With only two participants recorded, the fight was less a fleet battle than a decisive interception, and the battleship never found room to dictate the range or pace of the encounter.
THE KILLING BLOW
The final blow came from an unknown attacker flying a Pith Massacrer under the banner of Unaligned attackers. That ship did the work of breaking a 2.2 billion ISK hull, with 1.5 billion ISK destroyed and another 688.6 million ISK recovered by the victor. The Paladin's cargo and fittings tell their own story: Scorch L ammunition was left scattered across the wreck, while Conflagration L, Imperial Navy Gamma L, and Mobile Tractor Units were either lost or destroyed in the blast.
THE PRICE OF EXPOSURE
A Paladin is not a casual loss. Even in a brief skirmish, the destruction of a battleship-class hull suggests a moment of exposure that turned fatal almost immediately. Whether it was an ambush, a misjudged route, or simply bad timing, the result was the same: a high-value ship gone in seconds, with no sign of reinforcement arriving in time.
WHAT IT MEANS
For Test Alliance Please Ignore, the loss is significant less for the scale of the fight than for the value of the ship and what it represented on grid. For Unaligned attackers, it was a clean and efficient hunt, the sort of quick strike that punishes anyone who lingers alone in dangerous space. In L-1HKR, the message was simple: even a heavily armed Paladin can vanish fast when the trap closes first.
