The data suggests the ship was operating with combat intent, not sitting safely in dock or at a gate, which makes its loss feel all the sharper. Once the attackers landed their damage, the Paladin could not absorb the pressure long enough to pull clear.
THE FINAL BLOW
The killing strike came from Hyleus Tyrannos in a Drifter Recon Battleship, under the banner of Vigilant Tyrannos. A second attacker, listed as unknown and also flying a Drifter Recon Battleship, appears to have done the bulk of the work, landing over 290,000 damage before the final shot was fired. Hyleus Tyrannos closed the action with the decisive blow, ending the ship’s fight and sealing the result for the attackers.
THE PRICE
The Paladin’s destruction removed 1.7 billion ISK in hull and fittings from the field, with a further 295.9 million ISK dropped amid the wreckage. For X - Z E S T, it is a costly reminder that even a heavily armed Marauder can be isolated and overwhelmed in wormhole space. For Vigilant Tyrannos, it is a clean and expensive prize taken in a very short window of opportunity.
