THE CATCH
The action in Kourmonen appears to have developed quickly, lasting just under three minutes before the field was decided. What began as a 33-pilot encounter turned into a sharp, uneven exchange that left two expensive hulls behind, with the Paladin standing out as the marquee loss of the fight.
THE PALADIN BREAKS
NewAgeAnarchy’s Paladin was the most visible prize on the field, a 1.9 billion ISK ship that drew sustained fire until it finally went down. The destruction suggests the attackers were able to keep pressure on the target long enough to strip away its margin for survival, with the final blow credited to Strangemarsian in an Exequror Navy Issue. Supporting fire came from several directions, including an unidentified Mordu's Legion Skybreaker and other ships from the attacking side, indicating this was not a clean solo catch but a coordinated collapse around a high-value target.
LOSS OF THE HEAVY HULL
The Paladin was not the only ship lost. An Obelisk also fell in the same engagement, adding industrial weight to the total losses and pushing the value of the exchange deeper into costly territory. Together, the wrecks underline how dangerous Kourmonen has become for ships that linger too long or arrive without enough support.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Sedition. and Absolute Will, the loss of two significant hulls in a brief encounter is enough to sting even without a larger campaign attached to it. For the attackers, the result was a clean reminder that mixed small- and medium-scale forces can still punish overextension hard. In New Eden, a few minutes of bad timing can erase billions, and Kourmonen has just provided another example.
