THE HUNT
Vendetta Mercenary Group fielded at least two ships directly in the kill, with Luukje’s Devoter delivering the finishing strike and LuckyNumber in a Proteus adding pressure. The battle report suggests a small, local engagement rather than a broad fleet action, but even a compact hunting pair can be enough when the target is exposed. With five participants recorded overall, the encounter had the feel of a swift interception rather than a prolonged stand-up fight.
THE BREAK
The Orca’s fittings hint at a ship doing real work before it was lost. Heavy Water, Mining Equipment Preservation Charges, a Mining Foreman Burst II, and cargo optimization hardware all point to an industrial platform built for support and utility, not survival under hostile fire. Once the ship was pinned, there was little room for recovery, and most of its value went up with it.
THE LOSSES
