A 2.6 billion ISK Orca was brought down in Atlanins after Safety. pilots, flying Catalysts, closed in on Vitaliy Coole’s industrial command ship and stripped it apart in a short, concentrated attack. The loss left behind a mix of destroyed cargo and scattered ore, with only part of the hold escaping the blast.

THE CATCH

The engagement appears to have been brief but decisive. The Orca, flown by Vitaliy Coole of Federal Navy Academy, was overwhelmed by a group associated with Safety., with 15 attackers credited in the final destruction. In a fight that lasted no longer than the timestamp suggests, the heavier target was pinned in place long enough for the Catalysts to do their work.

THE BREAK

The final blow came from Extortion-Im-Not-Paying in a Catalyst, but the damage was spread across several ships in the attacking group. ClickBaitBlonde, 4 Weeks Aulmais, 28 Days Aulmais, and WhoNeedsTether were all among the main contributors, suggesting a coordinated volley rather than a lone opportunist’s strike. For an Orca, a ship built around endurance and utility, that kind of focused pressure can turn catastrophic very quickly.

THE LOSSES

The destruction total reached 2.6 billion ISK, with 2.1 billion ISK destroyed outright and 546 million ISK recovered from the wreck. Among the contents were compressed ore stocks, including Compressed Scordite II-Grade, Compressed Omber III-Grade, Compressed Omber II-Grade, Compressed Veldspar, and Compressed Omber. Some of that cargo survived the blast; some did not, adding further sting to an already expensive loss.

WHY IT MATTERS

An Orca is not a disposable target. Its destruction in Atlanins marks a costly setback for the pilot and a reminder of how vulnerable even substantial industrial assets become when caught away from safety.
