Orca Cut Down in Ghesis as Destroyers Close the Net

An Orca worth 1.8 billion ISK was brought down in Ghesis in a sharp, tightly focused attack that left the industrial command ship with little room to recover. What looks, on the surface, like a single expensive loss was in practice a coordinated hunt: 17 attackers pressed the target down, and a final volley from a Coercer named Salt Miner 01 ended the ship’s escape.

THE HUNT

The engagement in Ghesis was over as quickly as it began, but the scale of the response suggests a deliberate catch rather than a passing skirmish. On one side stood privet medved 1 of R A I D E R S academy, flying an Orca through the system; on the other, Weapons Of Mass Production. and a mixed group of allies brought enough firepower to overwhelm it. The fight involved 23 participants overall, with the attackers accounting for 17 of them, a clear sign that the Orca had been found in a hostile environment where survival depended on staying unnoticed or staying mobile.

THE BREAK

That did not happen. The Orca was exposed long enough for destroyers to apply sustained damage, and the list of attackers reads like a small firing line of Coercers closing in. Khryt, Tri Ad, Salt Miner 10, and Razors Vankillsing all contributed significant damage, suggesting the target was pinned in place and worn down under steady pressure. When the ship finally gave way, it was Salt Miner 01’s Coercer that landed the finishing blow, turning a coordinated chase into a confirmed kill.

THE LOSSES

The Orca’s destruction accounted for the bulk of the 1.8 billion ISK lost in the encounter. Around 1.6 billion ISK was destroyed with the hull, while roughly 151.6 million ISK made it out in dropped loot. The ship’s cargo helps explain why the loss stings beyond the hull itself: compressed ore including Scordite and Pyroxeres in multiple grades was scattered between destruction and salvage, with large quantities either lost or recovered in the aftermath. For an industrial vessel, that mix is often the difference between a bad day and a painful one.

WHY IT MATTERS

An Orca is not a casual target. It is a valuable support ship, and when one is caught in hostile space it tends to attract attention fast. In this case, the attackers appear to have recognized an opportunity and committed enough ships to make sure it did not escape. For R A I D E R S academy, the loss is an expensive reminder that even industrial power can become vulnerable the moment it is isolated. For the hunters, it is a clean and costly prize, won in a matter of moments but likely planned long before the first volley landed.

Scan Stakan Killed 55 Ships and Lost 186 in the Same Fight

E-WMT7 produced 376 killmails, somewhere around 134 billion ISK of wreckage, and one battleship worth more than a force auxiliary, a Nestor and a Typhoon Fleet Issue put together. The number that stings harder is 186. That is how many ships Scan Stakan lost in the same engagement in which they killed 55 - top of the kill list and top of the loss list, in a single three-and-a-half-hour afternoon.

x Never Regret x Takes 40 Kills as Raa Burns 26 Capitals

At 17:28 UTC, a Retriever died in Raa. Retrievers die constantly, and in Devoid that is more or less the job description. This one is only worth mentioning because of what followed it: for the next hundred minutes, a system on the edge of Amarr space turned into a scrapyard, and by the time the last shot landed at 19:10, 87 ships had been destroyed and the bill had reached 157.4 billion ISK. Almost half of that was one Revelation.

Rattini Tribe and Prime Directive. Split Dal's 192 Billion ISK Bill

An Amarr Shuttle belonging to G0lden Fleet. died in Dal at 16:15 UTC. That is not normally the opening line of a 192 billion ISK story, but Dal spent the next three hours and forty-one minutes making sure nobody forgot it. By the time the last capsule in the system - belonging to x Never Regret x - came apart at 19:56, 557 pilots had produced 516 confirmed losses, fourteen capital ships had been wrecked, and the Heimatar system had eaten just over 192 billion ISK. That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.

Brave Newbies Topped Both Sides of the HY-RWO Ledger

The first ship to die in HY-RWO was a Rokh worth 44.7 billion ISK, and it set the tone for everything that came after. Over the following hour, 1,883 pilots fought in the Catch system, 243 ships were destroyed, and around 205 billion ISK was removed from the economy one killmail at a time. Not a single capital ship died. In a fight of that size, the most expensive losses were ordinary battleships, fitted in a way that makes the word 'ordinary' sound absurd.
