THE CATCH

The destruction of VChapay’s Obelisk appears to have come during a concentrated ambush in Uedama, where 55 attackers were involved in the kill and the wider clash drew 59 participants overall. The freighter’s size made it an obvious prize, and once the tackle was on, there was little room for a clean escape.

THE DAMAGE

The final blow was delivered by MOONPIREs KGB Agent-10 in a Coercer, but the work around it was done by a swarm of Catalysts, with Watchdog-1 MOONPIRE, Watchdog-3 MOONPIRE, Watchdog-4 MOONPIRE, and Watchdog-5 MOONPIRE all contributing heavy damage. That kind of application suggests the target was pinned long enough for the attackers to grind through the hull rather than rely on a single decisive strike.

THE LOSSES

The Obelisk carried a total value of 6.1 billion ISK, with 3.4 billion ISK destroyed and 2.7 billion ISK dropped. Among the wreckage were multiple Inertial Stabilizers II modules and Giant Freight Containers, a reminder that even a freighter’s fittings and cargo can turn a loss into something more than just an empty hull.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Freelancers Security Service, this was an expensive failure in one of New Eden’s most notorious choke points. For HOLD MY PROBS, it was a clear demonstration of control and pressure in Uedama, where catching a ship of this scale can still deliver a sharp, memorable result.
