THE CATCH
The engagement unfolded in 4-HWWF over the course of 91 seconds, with 61 pilots present and two ships lost. At the centre of it all was UncleTom’s Obelisk of Fraternity Auxiliary, a vessel whose scale and value made it an immediate target once the attack came together. The freighter’s destruction accounted for 15.4 billion ISK of the reported losses, turning a brief encounter into a serious hit for the defenders.
THE AMBUSH
The strike appears to have been delivered by a compact but dangerous assault force, with 22 attackers credited on the Obelisk loss. Dracarys. carried the final blow through Needale Mangeiri in a Redeemer, while other Redeemers from The Initiative. added sustained pressure. The composition suggests a deliberate attempt to trap and overwhelm the freighter before it could escape or receive meaningful support.
THE LOSSES
When the Obelisk went down, it carried cargo and fittings worth more than the hull itself could absorb in the moment. Among the notable losses were Sylramic Fibers that dropped, while large quantities of Helium Isotopes, Oxygen Isotopes, Hydrogen Isotopes, and Nitrogen Isotopes were either scattered or destroyed in the wreckage. The freighter’s destruction alone accounted for 11.9 billion ISK in destroyed value, with another 3.6 billion ISK recovered from the remains.
THE CONSEQUENCE
For a ship built to move value rather than fight for it, the Obelisk’s end is the kind of loss that lingers. Even with a secondary Redeemer lost in the action, the outcome strongly favours the attackers: a high-value industrial target removed from the field, and evidence that the hunters arrived with enough force to close the trap quickly. In New Eden, that kind of interception is never just a wreck — it is a message about who controlled the grid when the pressure hit.
