The ship did not leave the field intact, and the numbers suggest the target was caught in the kind of close-range pressure that leaves little room for a clean escape.
THE TARGET
The Nestor is not a throwaway hull, and this one carried the kind of fittings that make every second matter. Among the losses were a Large Micro Jump Drive, combat drones, and two Caldari Navy Large Graviton Smartbombs that did not survive the wreck. With 2.3 billion ISK destroyed and another 820.3 million ISK dropped, the ship’s value was sharply felt even before the final volley landed.
THE FINAL VOLLEY
Kuun akka, flying a Thunderchild for Goonswarm Federation, secured the final blow after sustained damage from several sides. The attacker list also includes Kelto Marr and Korun Vex, both in Thunderchilds, alongside an unaligned Angel Dreadnought that appears to have joined the destruction from outside the main force. That mix suggests a dangerous encounter for the Nestor once it was isolated, with heavy fire making any survival attempt unlikely.
THE LOSSES
For Satimi Ernaga, the result was a clear and expensive loss, and for Iron Whales it removed a well-equipped Nestor from the field. The wreck also left behind a reminder of how quickly a ship of that class can be erased when caught at the wrong moment. In a region where every capital-grade or command-level hull is a statement, a 3.1 billion ISK destruction like this is consequential on its own terms.
